To Write or Not to Write
This is my grandson deciding if he wants to write…
For the past few years, I’ve been writing full time. I’m happy with the the two memoirs I’ve produced, and a few people have read, enjoyed, and commented on the books. I always planned on going back to sculpture once they were published. Now that both volumes are out there, I should be sketching, building armatures, and wedging clay.
I’ve fallen in love with writing. It’s too hard to give it up just yet. I love the discipline of writing six hours a day alone in my studio. I love the way that writing about events of yesteryear opens up my memory. Forgotten facts float to the surface, like answers in a Magic 8-Ball. Even better is the way puzzling events in the past begin to make sense to me.
Socrates said “The unexamined life is not worth living.” I intend to write a third volume of memoirs. Lightbulb Coffee ended with my wedding to the captivating artist Josie Jurczenia. Our life together has been full of fun, work, travel, and prosperity. I want to put that exciting time in a bottle before my voice is stilled by fate.
In the meantime, you can read the first two volumes of my epic and amusing saga. Just click on one of the books below for more information.
