I got a phone call yesterday from the manager of Books Inc in Berkeley. He informed me that they are going to carry my book! This was a special thrill to me, because as a farm boy in Arkansas most of the books that I grew up reading bore a Books Inc. imprint. My Mother had grown up on oilfields and ranches in the Southwest, and many of the books in the parlor bookcase came from Books Inc. in Santa Fe or Oklahoma City.

Founded in 1851, during the California gold rush, Books Inc. is the oldest book dealer in the west. Countless farm and ranch kids discovered the outside world through the books made available by this pioneer bookseller. I’m so proud to have my book on their shelves.
